Anniversary Trip!

Let me just start off by saying that I can't even believe it's been a year, it flew by so fast! Not to get all mushy but I can't help but get choked up thinking about this time last year and reminiscing on all the memories and fun we had in the moments leading up to our wedding, at our wedding and on our honeymoon. So many amazing things have happened this first year of marriage so naturally we had to do something fun to celebrate! I took it upon myself to handle the plans (type A personality much?) and planned a surprise weekend trip to Santa Barbara! It was the perfect getaway. We stayed right on the beach so had easy access to everything and coincidentally ended up being in SB on the same weekend and at the same hotel as family friends that I haven't seen in years! They actually saw me tag my location on Facebook and we met up! So crazy the way things like that happen! Anyways back to our weekend- we spent our time unwinding on the beach, exploring the pier and State Street, wine tasting and going to brunch (my favorite hobby) I had a wonderful time with my wonderful man, it was a perfect weekend celebrating our love and I am so thankful!! I sure do love my hubby, cheers to many more years of wedded bliss and always celebrating life to the fullest!

NV in DC!

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! We spent ours bidding summer farewell on the East Coast. Troy and I were finally reunited after his first away rotation for school. We started our weekend in Pennsylvania and then drove to DC. We had so much fun site seeing and exploring a new city! (Although Troy has been there a couple times prior-it was my first) We couldn't possibly fit everything into one long weekend but we sure did try! We stayed in an area called Foggy Bottom. It was the perfect location to everything we did/everywhere we went. We rented bikes and rode them through the National Mall and Downtown DC. Even in the 90+ degrees and humidity, it was a blast! I absolutely LOVED Georgetown! It's such a cute area. The monuments were amazing, Lincoln was my favorite especially at night. A favorite part of the weekend was getting caught in a summer rainstorm in Georgetown- with no umbrellas, of course! We took refuge in Sprinkles Cupcakes, so naturally we had to do a taste comparison to Georgetown Cupcake. And the verdict is... GEORGETOWN CUPAKE for the win!! We finally got umbrellas and visited Honest Abe again, (like I said, amazing at night) It's safe to say we had a perfect weekend! I'm sad it's over but happy to be back in the dry heat and home to Mia and Ruby:)
